Sicily,
although Italian, is more Mediterranean than anything else.
Separated from the mainland by only a small stretch of water it is another
world of mountains (including the volcano Mt Etna above), blue
skies, diverse cooking (bottom), and a culture influenced by
previous occupiers such as the Greeks and the Arabs. The buses
are definitely Italian though - orange local ones (left and below left)
and blue long distance ones (below right). Oh one final
thing, Sicily is romantic. |
