Two pairs of sisters are now operating in Scottish waters - on the West coast at Cairnryan, and on the East coast at Rosyth.   In July P&O's European Highlander joined its near sister European Causeway on the Cairnryan to Larne route, as can be seen above.   Earlier in the year, the Greek company Superfast started their Rosyth to Zeebrugge service with sisters Superfast IX and Superfast X as can be seen below.

Superfast won the contract to operate the service between Rosyth and Zeebrugge (B) that started in May 2002.   Above left: Superfast IX passes under the Forth Road Bridge after leaving Rosyth; above right: Superfast X at Rosyth in pelting rain; below: Superfast X at Rosyth as seen from South Queensferry on the opposite bank of the river Forth.
