March 2005
             Silverknowes Rally 2004

The Gifford Transport Group, who
own a substantial amount of former Lothian buses,
organised the first Edinburgh Festival of Transport in May 2004.   It was held at Silverknowes Promenade in Edinburgh on a gloriously sunny day.   Not only buses attended the rally, but a large number of commercial vehicles were also present.   The Firth of Forth provided an excellent backdrop for photographs, as can be seen by these various views of vintage lorries.
Left: Atkinson SVN68D of H. Young; upper right: An Atkinson Borderer, UFA102J, of Truck Plant Services; lower right: Seddon FRF805C of Drummond.
Clockwise: A marvellous Bedford TK, KSH661, of Spence complete with period sun visor; not only lorries and buses were present but cars too; ERF CTC562B of Truck Plant Services with low loader trailer; ERF 44LK (when truck types had initials rather than names) CSC235B of D Bennie, which was originally new to Scottish & Newcastle Breweries; local representative GWG142, an Albion Chieftan from 1952, one of several preserved by Bo'ness haulage contractor Anderson.
